'Jazz Picnic' in Car-Free Daehangno... Held on the 28th

Jongno-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Munheon) will hold the fourth “Come to Daehak-ro! Car-Free Street” event of the year in the Daehak-ro area on the 28th.

Under the theme “Autumn Picnic with JAZZ,” the event plans to showcase jazz performances and side events with artists, revitalizing the Daehak-ro cultural district and the local economy.

The event will take place from 1:00 PM to 6:30 PM along approximately 350 meters of Daehak-ro main street, from Exit 1 of Hyehwa Station to the entrance of Seoul National University Hospital. Vehicle restrictions will be enforced from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

The highlight of the event, the “Autumn Picnic with JAZZ Concert,” will be held on the main stage from 4:30 PM for two hours. Singer-songwriter and pianist Lee Jin-ah, along with Prelude, Updatbrown, and Saxoguys, will fill Daehak-ro’s autumn with wonderful jazz melodies.

At a small stage in front of Exit 1 of Hyehwa Station, a “Jazz Picnic” will be held from 2:00 PM. Various performances featuring local artists, indie bands, and the play “Namsachin Yeosachin” will await the audience.

Jongno-gu has also prepared a variety of side events. The “Artist Walk” will offer programs such as leather workshops, pottery therapy, soap workshops, and face painting. The “Dessert Table,” featuring participation from local dessert businesses and cafes, and the “Art Market,” promoting Daehak-ro performances and events, are also noteworthy. For more details, please refer to the Jongno-gu website, the social media channel JongnoTong, or contact the Culture Division’s Cultural Projects Team.

To revitalize the Daehak-ro cultural district and local economy, Jongno-gu has been holding the “Come to Daehak-ro! Car-Free Street” events on the last Saturday of May, June, August, and this month.

Mayor Jeong Munheon stated, “I hope everyone can momentarily set aside the hardships of daily life and create unforgettable memories in Daehak-ro, where the melodies of jazz ripple through the air.”
