Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, visited the Hongdae club street, which attracts large crowds on weekends, Halloween, and year-end holidays, on the afternoon of the 23rd to review locations for installing three additional AI crowd density analysis systems.
Mapo District plans to enhance safety by installing three more AI crowd density analysis systems in addition to the six already established on the Hongdae Red Road, ahead of the upcoming Halloween Day, to respond to safety incidents.
On this day, Mayor Park Gang-su carefully inspected the site, emphasizing the large number of visitors to the club street during last year's Halloween safety inspection.
In fact, on October 29th last year, when crowds gathered on the Hongdae club street to enjoy Halloween, the AI crowd density analysis system installed for crowd management issued a warning, prompting Mapo District and the police to quickly secure the pedestrian walkway.
Mayor Park Gang-su said, “As an autonomous district representing Korea's culture and tourism, we are making meticulous efforts to ensure everyday safety in Mapo District,” adding, “With the additional installation of AI crowd density analysis systems, we will create an even safer Hongdae Red Road.”
