Joo Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City, visited Songra Elementary School located in Hwado-eup on the 23rd to discuss educational community issues and communicate with students.

On this day, Mayor Joo visited a 6th-grade classroom at Namyangju Songra Elementary School to spend time communicating with students about their dreams and future career paths, followed by attending a roundtable discussion.

At the roundtable, the educational community raised concerns about pedestrian safety on school routes due to illegal parking around the school, suggesting improvements in the school zone such as crackdowns on illegal parking and wrong-way driving on one-way streets. They also requested enforcement against illegal dumping near school routes and maintenance of vehicle access roads within the school.

Additionally, the educational community proposed support for the renovation and repair of the playground following the completion of the exchange of shared property between the city and the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education in August.

They also emphasized the need to designate no-smoking zones near the school and secure children's play areas.

Mayor Joo said, “Communicating with the energetic students of Songra Elementary gave me great energy,” adding, “As Dasan Jeong Yak-yong said, ‘Raising one person is like creating a new world.’ We will do our best to ensure our students always grow into confident and proud future talents.”
