Volunteers Sweat While Engaged in Emergency Flood Recovery Activities in Pungyudong, Gimhae
BNK Kyongnam Bank urgently dispatched the 'BNK Volunteer Group' to the Gimhae area, which suffered damage from heavy rain on the 23rd, to carry out 'flood recovery support volunteer activities.'
The volunteer activities, held in the Pungyu-dong area of Gimhae, included over 60 members of the BNK Volunteer Group consisting of employees from the headquarters and Gimhae branch offices.
The BNK Volunteer Group worked hard to restore the area by organizing household items and removing mud from homes affected by flooding.
They then moved to the riverside area near Machalgyo, where they repaired damaged facilities and cleared away debris and trash washed in by the flood, putting all their efforts into recovery.
Additionally, 300 sets of emergency relief supplies such as instant rice, ramen, water, and wet wipes were delivered to Gimhae City.
Choi Daesik, head of the Social Contribution Promotion Department, stated, "The heavy rains on the 20th and 21st caused significant flooding and displaced residents in Gimhae and other parts of Gyeongnam, which was heartbreaking as a member of the local community. I hope these flood recovery volunteer activities will comfort the affected residents and help them return to their daily lives as quickly as possible."
Meanwhile, BNK Kyongnam Bank also urgently dispatched the BNK Volunteer Group to Yangsan Village in Daeyang-myeon, Hapcheon-gun, which suffered damage from heavy rain in May, to help clean flooded homes and organize crops as part of flood recovery efforts.
Since its launch in March, the newly established BNK Volunteer Group has been swiftly visiting areas affected by heavy rain and typhoons to carry out various volunteer activities for recovery support.
