Environmental Cleanup Activities Carried Out Around Namsan Park
On the 23rd, the Uichang-gu Leaders Association in Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, conducted a large-scale autumn cleaning event around Namsan Park, with over 250 local leaders in attendance, including Changwon Special City Mayor Hong Nam-pyo and Uichang-gu Chief An Jemun.
This cleaning event was organized to collect various types of waste generated by the extreme heavy rain that swept through Changwon on the 20th and 21st, as well as from the '24th Namsan Sangbong Festival' held on the 22nd.
Participants started at Namsanru and focused on cleaning the areas around Namsan Park and residential neighborhoods near Jungdong Elementary School. They worked hard to create a pleasant urban environment, especially by removing accumulated leaves, twigs, and other debris that had flowed into storm drains.
Kang Seonjoong, President of the Uichang-gu Leaders Association, said, "I feel very rewarded by participating in environmental maintenance activities for the residents. The Leaders Association will take the lead in making Uichang-gu a pleasant and clean place."
Mayor Hong said, "I would like to thank the Uichang-gu Leaders Association for their efforts in conducting a large-scale cleaning at the right time and place to create a pleasant environment in Uichang-gu. The city will also do its best to bring about concrete and practical changes close to the daily lives of citizens."
