On the 21st at Ttukseom Hangang Park, hosted by Gwangjin-gu Sports Council
Over 400 participants enjoyed a light 1km walk despite rain
All participants received souvenirs, with generous prizes including TVs and cordless vacuum cleaners
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) announced on the 21st that the ‘2024 Gwangjin Family Han River Walking Festival’ was successfully concluded at Ttukseom Hangang Park.
The event was organized to foster a healthy walking culture among families and promote harmony among residents.
Hosted by the Gwangjin-gu Sports Council, the event attracted over 400 participants despite the rainy weather, creating a bustling crowd. To prevent safety accidents, the ceremony was omitted and the course was shortened.
The race started with a vigorous cheer at the artificial rock climbing wall in Ttukseom Hangang Park. The 1km course took about 20 minutes, looping under Cheongdam Bridge and returning to the artificial rock climbing wall.
All participants who completed the course received a recycled bag as a souvenir. A raffle followed with generous prizes including a television, cordless vacuum cleaner, and coffee machine.
A resident who participated in the walking event said, “I joined again this time following my participation in May. It was great to take care of my health with my family and create precious memories.”
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “I thank Lee Jung-seop, President of the Gwangjin-gu Sports Council, and all residents who joined the walking event early in the rainy morning. I hope everyone makes walking, the most basic physical activity to maintain health, a daily habit.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to communicate with residents and foster a healthy walking culture through various community sports programs.”
