Last Suspect in 'Thai Korean Murder Case' Arrested... Forced Repatriation from Vietnam

All Three Suspects Apprehended Within Four Months

The National Police Agency announced on the 24th that they have forcibly repatriated the last suspect, Mr. A, in the Korean murder case in Thailand that occurred last May.

Mr. A moved between hideouts using various methods, including stealing other people's identification cards. The police issued an Interpol red notice and cooperated with neighboring countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam to track and apprehend the suspect.

In particular, after the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency's Criminal Mobile Unit confirmed the suspect's location in Vietnam, they requested prompt arrest from the local public security department in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam. Police attach?s dispatched across Vietnam worked closely with local law enforcement agencies to gather intelligence and monitor the suspect's movements, gradually tightening the encirclement.

The investigation team obtained a lead on the suspect's whereabouts on the 11th, and the following day, local public security forces raided the hideout in Vietnam. As a result, all three perpetrators were apprehended within four months.

A National Police Agency official stated, “We will strengthen international cooperation under the principle of relentlessly pursuing and apprehending major fugitives abroad to ensure they face justice.”
