Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced that the "29th Suncheon Nagan Eupseong Folk Culture Festival," which recreates the historicity of Nagan Eupseong through various cultural arts, will be held for three days from October 3 to 5 at Suncheon Nagan Eupseong.
This festival will be held under the theme "A Time Travel to Joseon, Dyed in Nagan Eupseong," offering various content that allows visitors to experience the Joseon Dynasty.

The opening ceremony of the festival will begin on October 3 at 2:30 PM with pre-ceremony performances including a march by the Army 31st Division Military Band, the arrival procession of the Nagan County Governor, and a large drum performance. At 3:30 PM, the opening declaration and the opening theme performance "The Birth of Nagan Eupseong" will follow in sequence.
Major programs of the festival include traditional folk culture reenactments such as Baekjungnori, fortress wall building, the changing of the water gate guards, mounted general patrol ceremonies, traditional weddings, Pansori, Gayageum Byeongchang, and the Changgeuk play "General Kim Bingil." Additionally, there are various performances including flash mob fusion historical dramas, Joseon art history presentations, and performances by the municipal choir.
Furthermore, participatory programs such as folk game competitions, Jangsa Ssireum wrestling tournaments, and large tug-of-war events will be held, along with food and experience booths. Visitors can enjoy the festival inside and outside the fortress with busking performances at the East Gate entrance and stamp certification activities.
In particular, actors dressed as Joseon Dynasty characters will perform "Vivid Nagan Eupseong Character Performances" at various locations inside the fortress, creating a festive atmosphere for tourists to enjoy together.
