Three Locations Including Breakwaters Near Nokdong Port and Sorokdo

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Yeong-min) announced that the "6th Gohung-gun Governor's Cup Nokdong Port National Sea Fishing Competition" will be held on the 29th in the Doyang-eup area.
Hosted by Gohung-gun and the Gohung-gun Council and organized by the Nokdong Seonhuhoe, this competition will take place at three locations including Nokdong Port, known as the mecca of black porgy fishing, and the breakwater near Sorokdo.

The fishing competition has an entry fee of 100,000 KRW and is open to all ages and genders. Applications will be accepted online on a first-come, first-served basis for 150 participants until the 27th (search "Nokdong Port National Sea Fishing Competition" on Naver). If the online registration quota is not met, applications will also be accepted on-site on the day of the event.
Ranking will be determined by measuring the total length of the target species, black porgy (25cm or longer), with the largest size winning. The winner will receive a prize of 7 million KRW, second place 2 million KRW, third place 1 million KRW, and special awards such as longest distance, oldest participant, youngest participant, and female winner will also be presented.
A county official stated, "Through this fishing competition, we hope to promote the Gohung sea, which is not only rich in marine resources but also boasts clean and beautiful scenery, to many anglers and tourists. We also hope that the Gohung sea will become a 'sea worth visiting again,' contributing to the revitalization of the local economy."
