The 12th Gyeongsangnam-do Eco-friendly Farmers' Conference Successfully Held in Changwon

Reaffirming Commitment to Promoting the Importance of Eco-Friendly Agriculture

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam successfully held the 12th Gyeongsangnam-do Eco-friendly Farmers' Conference on the 23rd at the Meeting Square in Changwon Sports Park.

This event, hosted by the Gyeongsangnam-do Eco-friendly Agriculture Association and organized by the Changwon City Eco-friendly Agriculture Association, was prepared to emphasize the importance of eco-friendly agriculture and to promote solidarity and a commitment to eco-friendly practices among eco-friendly farmers for sustainable agricultural development.


Under the theme "Agriculture that Saves the Earth, Grow with Eco-friendliness," the event featured a variety of programs including an opening declaration, the Ecological Agriculture Grand Prize awards and commendations for distinguished contributors, a Magic Tree performance, and a Unity Festival, with over 800 participants from 17 city and county associations and agricultural producer groups in the province.


In addition, to promote the excellence and safety of eco-friendly agricultural products, award-winning farms and outstanding eco-friendly agricultural products from cities and counties in the province were exhibited, leading the way in encouraging the consumption of eco-friendly agricultural products.


In his welcoming speech, Changwon Special City Mayor Hong Nam-pyo said, "The agricultural environment is facing crises such as abnormal weather and aging populations, but a crisis can also be an opportunity. By seeking sustainable agricultural development through tourism linked to agriculture and experiential programs connecting agriculture and the city, we can sufficiently enhance the value of rural areas and the competitiveness of agriculture."


He added, "I hope this event will further spread awareness of eco-friendly agriculture."
