A man in his 30s fatally beats former colleague he accidentally met at a convenience store

A man in his 30s was arrested for fatally assaulting a former coworker whom he happened to meet at a convenience store.

On the 23rd, the Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station announced that they had detained a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, on suspicion of fatally assaulting a former coworker. Mr. A is accused of assaulting a man in his 40s on the streets of Suwan-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, at around 3:30 a.m. on the 20th, resulting in the victim's death.

The victim suffered severe head injuries after falling backward from the assault and died that evening while receiving treatment at the hospital.

The two had once worked at the same company but had a strained relationship. On the day of the incident, they happened to meet at a convenience store and got into a fight.

The police are conducting a detailed investigation into the circumstances of the incident with the perpetrator, Mr. A.
