Chung-Ang University Announces Establishment of 'Virtual Convergence University' with Vietnam Friendship Telecommunication University

Chung-Ang University announced on the 23rd that it has formalized the establishment of a virtual convergence university, a university education cooperation project with the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) in Vietnam.

Last December, the two universities agreed to establish the Chung-Ang University Virtual Convergence University, Korea's first IT-based new technology convergence college, at PTIT as well, creating a cooperative system including joint research and industry-academia cooperation, and to nurture outstanding local talents in Vietnam.


The dean of the Virtual Convergence University will be jointly held by Dean Vu and Professor Cao Minh Tang of PTIT. Dean Vu stated, “This joint university establishment, combining the experience of Korean universities and the passion of Vietnamese universities, will provide great momentum for the development of Vietnam's IT industry,” adding, “We plan to focus not only on professional skills but also on cultivating creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to create a central axis for IT education cooperation in Vietnam.”


Park Sang-gyu, President of Chung-Ang University, said, “The Virtual Convergence University is a groundbreaking challenge that opens a new chapter for domestic universities' entry into and cooperation within the global higher education market. Chung-Ang University plans to expand this new global university education cooperation model throughout Asia.”
