The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will hold an opening ceremony for the entire 'Korea Dullegil' trail on the 23rd at the Unification Observatory in Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do, together with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and other related ministries. Following the East Sea Haeparang Trail (2016), South Sea Nampalang Trail (2020), and West Sea Seohaerang Trail (2022), the final section, the 'DMZ Peace Trail,' will be unveiled.

This is a meaningful path marking the northernmost point of South Korea and the completion of the Korea Dullegil trail. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will celebrate the opening by walking together from the Unification Observatory to the Jejin Checkpoint with the 'Global Expedition Team' composed of foreign residents in Korea and walking travel club members. Vice Minister Yong Hoseong said, "We will develop it into a world-class tourist attraction that can compete with famous walking trails in other countries."

The Korea Dullegil trail is a core tourism resource that promotes the values of coexistence and health through walking travel. Since 2009, attractive walking paths have been surveyed, connected, and an on-site guidance system established. The total length reaches 4,500 km. The Haeparang Trail is 750 km (50 courses), Nampalang Trail 1,470 km (90 courses), Seohaerang Trail 1,800 km (109 courses), and Peace Trail 510 km (35 courses).

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism operates walking programs linked with nearby regional tourism resources. It also promotes eco-friendly travel such as cycling and camping to expand domestic travel demand.

The start is the 'Low Carbon Travel Week,' held until the 13th of next month. Together with 44 private companies including Samsung Electronics, Kakao, and HD Hyundai Oilbank, related ministries, and local governments, various events will be held. These include the Korea Dullegil national trail challenge, a certification campaign for 45 recommended courses, a challenge campaign for 60 free bicycle travel courses, and walking and cycling trips linked with low-carbon trains (Eco Rail).
