Shinsegae Group's e-commerce platforms, Gmarket and Auction, announced on the 23rd that they will launch 'Star Delivery,' a service that guarantees the arrival date of ordered products.
Star Delivery is a new delivery service introduced from the 26th through logistics collaboration with CJ Logistics, aiming for 100% arrival guarantee by delivering on the promised date to customers. Although Gmarket has been operating the next-day delivery service 'Smile Delivery,' it did not offer an arrival guarantee service before.

Star Delivery promises compensation directly to customers if the delivery is delayed beyond the promised date. This achievement comes from the 'Shinsegae-CJ Business Partnership Agreement' signed by Shinsegae Group and CJ Group in June, with CJ Logistics fully responsible for Star Delivery shipments.
Through Star Delivery, Gmarket and Auction customers can accurately predict delivery timing and are assured of fast delivery via CJ Logistics, the company emphasized. Sellers also expect benefits such as shortened payment settlement periods and increased sales due to faster delivery.
Products eligible for Star Delivery will have a Star Delivery logo sticker attached below the product name. If delivery is delayed beyond the guaranteed arrival date, customers will be compensated 1,000 KRW per delayed shipment based on the delivery invoice. The compensation will be paid as Smile Cash, which can be used like cash on Gmarket and Auction.
Gmarket will partially introduce Star Delivery as a beta service for trial operation and plans to gradually expand the eligible products and scope. The Star Delivery beta service will apply to approximately 150,000 products across 14 categories. Key Star Delivery products include daily necessities, industrial goods, kitchenware, beauty products, canned and ambient processed foods, and some digital and home appliances.
Star Delivery will first be introduced to Gmarket’s existing next-day combined delivery service 'Smile Delivery,' which is fully managed by CJ Logistics. It will be offered as a 'Next-Day Arrival' service guaranteeing delivery by the next day if ordered before 8 PM on weekdays.
A dedicated section featuring only Star Delivery guaranteed products will also be created. This permanent section will be displayed at the top of the main pages of Gmarket and Auction, accessible by clicking the Star Delivery icon. A brand week promoting Star Delivery will be held until October 2, with participation from five brands: CJ CheilJedang, Amorepacific, Lotte Chilsung, Nongshim, and LG Household & Health Care. Special live broadcasts featuring Star Delivery products will also be conducted.
A Gmarket representative stated, "Through close logistics collaboration with CJ, we can now provide faster and more convenient delivery services to Gmarket and Auction customers. By adding predictable delivery services to Gmarket’s strengths in price competitiveness and product variety, we have enhanced shopping convenience and plan to rapidly expand the range of Star Delivery products."
Meanwhile, detailed information about Star Delivery will be available on the main pages of Gmarket and Auction starting from the 26th.
