Gangwon Yeongdong, Jeonnam Region, Gyeongsang Region, and Jeju Island Occasionally Cloudy
On Monday the 23rd, the whole country is expected to be mostly clear with a large temperature difference between day and night. Especially as the morning temperature drops, the weather is expected to be relatively cool compared to the recent ongoing 'autumn heatwave.'
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 22nd, the country will be clear on the 23rd, but there will be occasional clouds in Gangwon Yeongdong, Jeonnam region, Gyeongsang region, and Jeju Island. Rain will occasionally fall in Busan, Ulsan, Gangwon Yeongdong, the eastern coast of Gyeongbuk, the northeastern mountains of Gyeongbuk until 3 a.m., and in Jeju until noon.
Expected precipitation amounts are 5 to 40 mm in Gangwon Yeongdong, 5 to 30 mm in Busan, Ulsan, and Jeju. The nationwide minimum temperature is forecasted to be between 11 and 21 degrees Celsius, and the maximum temperature between 22 and 29 degrees Celsius.
By region, the morning temperatures are expected to drop to around 15 degrees Celsius, with Seoul at 16 degrees, Daejeon 17 degrees, Daegu 18 degrees, Gwangju 19 degrees, and Busan 21 degrees, mainly in the central and southern inland areas.
Daytime temperatures will rise to 27 degrees in Seoul, 26 degrees in Daejeon and Sejong, and 28 degrees in Gwangju.
A Korea Meteorological Administration official said, "Morning temperatures will drop by about 2 to 5 degrees compared to the previous day," adding, "With clear weather and rising temperatures during the day, the temperature difference between day and night will widen significantly to 10 to 15 degrees, so attention to health management is necessary."
As a high-pressure system moves to the northern East Sea, strong winds are blowing, and storm warnings have been issued for most seas, with strong winds and high waves continuing.
In the Gangwon East Coast, Gyeongsang coastal areas, and Jeju coastal areas, swell waves are coming in, causing waves to strongly push onto sandy beaches or overflow rocky shores and breakwaters, so caution is needed to prevent coastal safety accidents.
