Grand Prize for Acting Goes to Ha Jungwoo... 'Alienoid Part 2' Wins Best Visual Effects, Along with 'Sweet Home 2'
The 2024 Daejeon Special Visual Film Festival held an awards ceremony and came to a close. / Daejeon City
Daejeon City and the Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency announced that the '2024 6th Daejeon Special FX Festival' was held for three days from the 20th to the 22nd at KAIST and throughout the original downtown area.
The festival featured a variety of programs including a red carpet event, Special FX Awards (11 recipients in 6 technical categories and 9 recipients in 6 acting categories), a citizen screening (GV commentary), special effects experiences, a symposium, and OST cover performances.
In the technical category of this year's Special FX Awards, the film 'Hijacking' won the Grand Prize. The Grand Prize for Special FX Acting went to Ha Jungwoo. 'Hijacking' was praised for its outstanding recreation of the airplane set, the combination of special and visual effects, and its accurate depiction of the era.
The Visual Effects Award went to 'Alienoid Part 2' (film) and 'Sweet Home 2' (drama series). The Special Effects Award went to 'Exhuma', the Art Award to 'Sword of Aramun', and the Jury's Special Award to 'Yumi's Cells: The Movie'.
