"No Regrets About Broadcasting... I'm Not a Celebrity," Ppanibottle Responds to Swearing Controversy

Travel YouTuber Ppanibottle (real name Park Jae-han) expressed his feelings regarding the exposure of abusive language in direct messages (DMs).

On the 21st, Ppanibottle posted a lengthy message on his Instagram, saying, "All sorts of things happened while traveling, but everything will be resolved well." He stated, "Many people are worried about the abusive DMs," and added, "Some say, 'Is it okay for a public figure to swear like that?' or 'He won't be able to appear on broadcasts anymore.' I am very grateful for your concern, but I don't consider myself a public figure or a celebrity. I'm just an unemployed person traveling around."

He continued, "For me, broadcasting is just like a party," and said, "It's really fun and enjoyable, but since you can't party every day for your whole life, it will end someday. I will continue as long as I can, but I don't have any big regrets. I will just live my life my way." Ppanibottle also mentioned, "I received so many encouraging DMs that I couldn't read them all," and added, "Still, I want to express my gratitude to everyone."

Finally, he concluded, "What I humbly want to ask is that instead of following articles or public opinion about any issue, please evaluate it based on your own thoughts," and said, "I kept thinking about this throughout my travels. Well, if not, then never mind."

Recently, Ppanibottle became a hot topic after the content of DMs exchanged with a netizen was revealed on online communities. In the conversation, the netizen criticized, "You post stories like this even after seeing KwakTube fall into ruin," and asked, "Do you only care about eating well and living well yourself, regardless of whether the people around you fall into ruin?" In response, Ppanibottle strongly replied with abusive language, saying, "I don't even have the confidence to reveal my face and real name and pick a fight," "Did I send anyone to ruin?" and insults such as "You ruined XX, you bug XX," and "Go f*** yourself."

The netizen is presumed to have sent these DMs to Ppanibottle because Ppanibottle's close friend, YouTuber KwakTube (real name Kwak Jun-bin), was traveling with Lee Na-eun, who is suspected of school violence, and seemed to defend her. Previously, KwakTube revealed that he was a victim of school violence, but in a video with Lee Na-eun, he said, "As a victim, I talked a lot, but I felt like I was causing harm to the person who was actually misunderstood." Lee Na-eun has also been accused of being the main culprit in bullying within the group April, so netizens criticized KwakTube's remarks as inappropriate. Eventually, KwakTube posted apologies twice on the 16th and 18th.
