On the night of the 20th, a heavy rain warning was issued across Yangsan-si, Gyeongnam, resulting in a downpour, and Mayor Na Dongyeon conducted an emergency on-site inspection of disaster-prone areas.

Starting at 5:30 a.m. on the 21st, Mayor Na Dongyeon carried out monitoring activities around low-lying urban areas and drainage pump stations near Yangsan Stream. At 8 a.m., he arrived at the Yangsan City Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters situation room to receive reports on the weather conditions and damage status.
From 9 a.m., he visited major disaster-prone sites in the city, including the Ungsang Industrial Complex, Seokgye General Industrial Complex, Gasan General Industrial Complex, and apartment complexes in Mulgeum-eup, to inspect the on-site situation and instructed field officials to strengthen proactive monitoring activities to prevent casualties.
Department heads responsible for safety, business, construction, and roads, as well as the heads of the relevant towns and districts, accompanied the inspection to ensure thorough checks by each department. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of establishing an organic cooperation system with fire and police authorities.
In particular, he requested that, in the event of a disaster, village heads and residents take protective measures for vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children, and promptly report accidents through emergency contact networks to help prevent further damage.
Mayor Na Dongyeon emphasized, "As there are concerns about damage due to the heavy rain, it is important to strengthen preemptive monitoring activities to prevent casualties and respond proactively," adding, "We are intensifying on-site monitoring of large construction sites, underground roadway vehicle entry blocking facilities, flood prevention facilities for apartment complexes, river flood defense walls, drainage pumps, and drainage channels."
Since 11:20 p.m. on the 20th, with the issuance of the heavy rain warning, Yangsan City has implemented Level 2 emergency operations at the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, with 150 personnel on emergency duty to thoroughly prepare for urgent situations.
From midnight on the 20th to 8 a.m. on the 21st, the average rainfall across the 13 towns and districts in Yangsan reached 153mm.
