Goseong County stated, “The extension project of the Donghae Expressway to Goseong, which connects the only disconnected section of the Donghae Line Expressway within Gangwon Province, is a long-cherished project of Goseong County and will be a milestone in completing the comprehensive transportation network of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.” They requested that the Sokcho-Goseong section be commenced early.

The ‘Goseong Digital Health Harmony Valley’ project plans to create a Harmony Valley Town that harmoniously integrates the nation’s only resort, healing, and health facilities exclusively for people with disabilities with Goseong County’s pristine natural environment, leading welfare policies that respect inclusiveness and diversity.

Additionally, to revitalize the border area economy and serve as a nationwide site for unification and security education, they proposed normalizing the operation of the ecological tourism attraction ‘Goseong DMZ Peace Road themed route’ (including reopening the Geumgangsan Observatory) and designating the Hwajinpo area as a ‘National Marine Ecological Park’ for the next 100 years to develop Goseong County into a global ecological peace marine tourism landmark.

Furthermore, they requested active interest and support at the National Assembly level for the smooth progress of the ‘4 Heritage Hotel & Resort development project,’ which aims to create modernized eco-friendly tourist accommodations within the Songjiho tourist site.

Ham Myeong-jun, Governor of Goseong County, said, “We will continue to lead changes and development that residents can feel through proactive administration,” and added, “We will drive a better future for Goseong County through continuous communication with the National Assembly.”
