On the 20th, Namyangju Mayor Joo Gwang-deok held a roundtable meeting with the educational family of Namyangju Wolmun Elementary School to listen to local issues and opinions from the education field.
Wolmun Elementary School is a small school consisting of a total of six classes, and requested support for the construction of an indoor gymnasium, citing a lack of space for students to engage in physical education and educational activities.
In addition, a school official suggested finding a solution to the difficulties students face commuting to and from school, as more than 90% of the students live outside Wolmun-ri, and the bus intervals are long.
Furthermore, discussions were held to expand the use of nearby sports facilities and to increase opportunities for diverse cultural and educational experiences.
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok stated, “Education is not just a simple matter; it is hope and the future within a family,” and added, “Namyangju City will strive to support various educational experiences such as cultural arts and natural experiences for growing children.”
