A welfare system that supports home treatment after hospital discharge has become possible.

Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju (District Mayor Park Byeong-gyu) signed a business agreement on the 20th with nine local hospitals, including Gwangju Central Hospital, for the 'Discharged Patient Home Return Support Project.'

In particular, this agreement marks the first step in establishing a community medical care linkage system through public-private cooperation, enabling a higher level of medical system operation for the residents.

The hospitals participating in the agreement with Gwangsan-gu are ▲Gwangju Central Hospital (Director Ko Gil-seok) ▲KS Hospital (Director Han Cheol) ▲Cheomdan Woori Hospital (Director Kim Hyeong-seok) ▲Gwangju Veterans Hospital (Director Lee Sam-yong) ▲Gwangju Open Hospital (Director Seo Jeong-pyeong) ▲Songjeong Sarang Hospital (Director Moon Jeong-sik) ▲Seulgiroun Rehabilitation Medicine Hospital (Director Noh Se-eung) ▲Hanam Seongsim Hospital (Director Kim Seok-bin) ▲Our Neighborhood Clinic (Director Im Hyeong-seok), totaling nine hospitals and clinics.

According to the agreement, medical institutions will identify patients scheduled for discharge who have high care needs by assessing their socioeconomic status, physical and functional levels, and Gwangsan-gu will provide integrated support such as health care through home visits and consultations for those referred by the medical institutions.

Park Byeong-gyu, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, said, "Many patients still need medical care and support after discharge due to health issues, and we will support their return to daily life through organic cooperation with medical institutions."

Meanwhile, Gwangsan-gu was selected in May for the pilot project on integrated elderly medical and care support led by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and is currently implementing it.
