Hyundai Motor and Czech Technical University Collaborate on Future Mobility Technology

Korea-Czech Industry-Academia-Research Technology Collaboration Agreement Signed

On the 20th (local time), Hyundai Motor Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for 'Future Mobility Technology Collaboration' in Prague, Czech Republic, with Ostrava University of Technology, Korea Automotive Technology Institute, and Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology.

Ostrava University of Technology, established in 1849, is a leading local technical university with seven departments including civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics and electrical engineering, computer science, mining, metallurgy, and materials science. It is located near Hyundai Motor's Czech factory. Under this agreement, the parties will cooperate to commercialize new technologies, foster local talent, and increase academic exchanges.

Specifically, they plan to join forces in researching related technologies such as Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication, bidirectional charging and discharging, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. They will hold various R&D projects and technical workshops, exchange personnel, and expand the scope of research. In 2020, the Czech Republic announced a national plan for eco-friendly mobility to establish a sustainable transportation system and reduce environmental impact.
