Jeong Jongbok, Head of Gijang County, Listens to Local Voices... Operates 'On-Site Civil Service Office'

Listening to Residents' Suggestions and Advice... Sharing Key County Issues

Gijang County announced on the 20th that County Governor Jeong Jongbok will operate the ‘2024 Second Half Dialogue with Residents: On-site Mobile Civil Service Office,’ where he will directly listen to and address residents’ suggestions in person, until the 26th.

The ‘On-site Mobile Civil Service Office’ serves as a communication channel with residents, where suggestions and advice for the region are heard and solutions are sought together on-site. This initiative is held twice a year, in the first and second half, with County Governor Jeong Jongbok and senior officials visiting local residents directly.

This session will begin in Gijang-eup on the 20th and will be held in rotation at five administrative welfare centers in the county’s towns and townships until the 26th. During the operation period, Governor Jeong will encourage public officials working on the front lines and directly listen to the vivid voices of residents while sharing key county administration issues.

On the first day, the 20th, at the Gijang-eup Administrative Welfare Center, a Q&A-style discussion was held in a free and open atmosphere, where the governor answered residents’ current issues and the heads of relevant departments provided supplementary responses, with representatives from various sectors in attendance.

Main topics included: ▲Safety management and tourism revitalization plans for Gijang-eup Fortress ▲Progress on the construction of Gijang-eup Sports Park ▲Suggestions for support in demolishing vacant houses in Gijang County ▲Listening to residents’ inconveniences due to the transformation of detention basins into parks, among other various suggestions and proposals from residents. Open and candid conversations continued between Governor Jeong, county staff, and residents.

Governor Jeong Jongbok stated, “We will continue to communicate with residents and develop policies that people can truly feel,” and urged, “Relevant departments should focus administrative efforts on actively resolving issues by thoroughly reviewing residents’ suggestions from multiple perspectives.”

The On-site Mobile Civil Service Office will continue to communicate with residents in the following order: ▲Junggwan-eup on the 23rd ▲Ilgwang-eup on the 24th ▲Jangan-eup on the 25th ▲Cheolma-myeon on the 26th.
