On the 20th, during a meeting with Ambassador Goldberg at the National Assembly, Han said, "Korea and the U.S. share almost all values, including liberal democracy." He added, "The Korea-U.S. alliance marks its 71st anniversary this year," emphasizing, "The reason the two countries have maintained their alliance for such a long time is because they share core common values."

Han said, "I understand that the salute slogan of the U.S. 2nd Infantry Division stationed in the Republic of Korea is 'second to none,' which means 'not inferior to anyone' in Korean. I think this phrase refers to the strong alliance between Korea and the U.S."

Ambassador Goldberg said, "As Han mentioned, the bilateral relationship has truly flourished over the past 71 years," adding, "It has grown from a steelclad military alliance forged through shared sacrifices during the Korean War to a comprehensive global partnership encompassing trade, education, diplomacy, and especially human relations today."

He continued, "Furthermore, I believe the Korea-U.S. relationship is inseparably united not only by shared values such as democracy, freedom, and human rights but also by a joint will to promote these values and protect them wherever they are threatened. In particular, everything from Korean companies investing in the U.S. market to American companies investing in the Korean market is making the bilateral relationship stronger and more solid than ever before," he added.

Han had previously met Ambassador Goldberg last year while serving as Minister of Justice. This meeting was held to commemorate Han’s inauguration, and it is known that Han and Ambassador Goldberg discussed current issues between the two countries.
