Mayor Lee: "Will Actively Cooperate with Medical Institutions Prioritizing Citizens' Lives and Safety"
Pohang Mayor Lee Kangdeok visited on-call medical institutions that volunteered for emergency duty during the Chuseok holiday to deliver messages of gratitude and encouragement for their dedication to the safety and well-being of citizens.
On the 20th, Mayor Lee visited Park Eungwon Mimoa Clinic and Hana Pediatric Clinic in Ocheon-eup, Nam-gu, to thank the medical staff for their efforts during the Chuseok holiday and to listen to the challenges faced at the medical sites.
Park Eungwon Mimoa Clinic and Hana Pediatric Clinic not only provided daily medical services during the five-day Chuseok holiday but also offer weekend services on Saturdays and Sundays, playing a leading role in alleviating citizens’ inconvenience caused by medical service gaps on weekends and public holidays.
Mayor Lee Kangdeok said, "Thanks to the medical staff who did their best at the front lines, we were able to get through this holiday safely without any major incidents," and added, "Pohang City will continue to prioritize the safety and lives of citizens and actively cooperate with medical institutions."
During this Chuseok holiday, a total of 296 medical institutions were open in Pohang, including 124 in Nam-gu and 172 in Buk-gu, while 250 pharmacies were open, with 86 in Nam-gu and 164 in Buk-gu.
In addition, to maintain a 24-hour emergency medical system during the Chuseok holiday, a dedicated manager was assigned to each of the five emergency medical institutions for intensive management, and both Nam-gu and Buk-gu health centers provided emergency medical services to minimize inconvenience to citizens and ease the burden on emergency medical institutions.
