On the 20th, the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency signed an agreement with the Yongin City Industrial Promotion Agency and the Hwaseong City Urban Small Business Association as part of the expansion project for the Small Business Complex Support Center.
The Small Business Complex Support Center is a facility installed in small business clusters that provides comprehensive support necessary for small businesses, such as utilizing smart manufacturing equipment, product development, exhibitions and sales, and online marketing, thereby creating an innovation foundation.
The two selected institutions will each receive 300 million KRW in project funds to operate comprehensive support programs including ▲ introduction of new shared equipment ▲ education and consulting to strengthen technical capabilities ▲ activation of networks and support for establishing cooperatives.
In particular, the equipment to be introduced this time is essential for verifying product durability and quality reliability but is expensive equipment that individual small businesses find difficult to purchase.
Kang Seong-cheon, head of the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, stated, "Small businesses are the core players of Gyeonggi-do's manufacturing industry, and strengthening their competitiveness is the driving force for regional economic development. Through the expansion of this Complex Support Center, we will support small businesses to utilize advanced equipment and enhance their technical skills to achieve innovation suitable for the Fourth Industrial Revolution era."
Meanwhile, there are 170,000 small business enterprises in Gyeonggi-do, accounting for 87% of manufacturing companies and 27% of employment in the region.
