Two-Person Group Trying to Grab Money Quickly Overpowered
A pharmacy employee who holds a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu swiftly subdued two robbers, and the entire incident was captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV), becoming a hot topic in Brazil. On the 19th (local time), the British media outlet 'Daily Mail' highlighted a robbery incident that occurred on the 14th at a pharmacy in Balneario Camboriu, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
In the CCTV footage released by the media, two robbers with their faces covered by red cloth entered the pharmacy. They were a male and female duo attempting to steal valuables from the local pharmacy and escape. The male approached the employee threateningly, while his accomplice swept up medicines from the shelves. After completing the robbery, they tried to leave the store together.
The employee, who had been quietly watching, suddenly ran out from behind the counter and quickly subdued the female first, then approached the male robber and threw punches. The male robber was cornered in an instant, fell helplessly to the ground, and the employee mounted him, continuing to strike.
It turned out that the pharmacy employee was a martial arts expert holding a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu. He recounted the situation, saying, "At first, the robbers entered with their faces covered and threatened me, pretending to be armed." However, upon closer inspection, he realized that the object they pretended was a gun was actually a metal pipe. The employee then quickly ran out and subdued the robbers on the spot.
Brazilian police announced through local media that the male suspect was arrested, but the female who fled with the cash was not caught. Meanwhile, the male robber, who was subdued after being punched by the employee, was transported to a hospital for treatment. He is expected to be charged soon with armed robbery, and the police are still pursuing the female robber who has not yet been apprehended.
Meanwhile, the footage of the employee subduing the duo quickly spread and became a sensation on social networking services (SNS) such as X and Facebook.
