Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held an emergency inspection meeting in preparation for heavy rainfall within the jurisdiction on the 20th, following a forecast from the Korea Meteorological Administration that heavy rain could pour down.

The meeting was presided over by First Vice Mayor Jang Geum-yong and was conducted in response to the forecast of heavy rain and the course change of Typhoon No. 14 'Pulasun' from the 20th to the 22nd. Heads of departments organized as the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters working group and disaster response officers from each district office attended, focusing on checking the response status to heavy rain and strong winds and sharing matters for interdepartmental cooperation.
Vice Mayor Jang emphasized, "To minimize casualties caused by heavy rain, we must thoroughly conduct monitoring activities in disaster-prone areas such as landslide risk zones, riverside trails, and riverside parking lots, as well as areas where casualties are a concern," and instructed, "If any signs of danger are found, take immediate safety measures and ensure thorough on-site management, including preemptive control and resident evacuation."
Meanwhile, following this meeting, the city is making all-out efforts for disaster prevention by completing monitoring activities in areas at risk of casualties and disaster-prone zones, checking the operational status of disaster prevention facilities such as drainage pump stations, and inspecting the emergency contact network for residents subject to evacuation and civilian assistants.
