Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) conducted a 'Integrity Campaign' aimed at spreading a culture of integrity and ethics among internal and external stakeholders to create a transparent working environment for newly planned investment projects.
This campaign was organized to prevent improper benefits and private use of confidential information by stakeholders involved in new investment projects, and to foster a transparent work environment and expand a culture of integrity through continuous ethical activities.
BMC provided stakeholders, who were assigned tasks such as basic planning and feasibility analysis for new investment projects, with explanations about the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act and examples of violations, as well as opportunities to enhance understanding of laws related to integrity and ethics through simple quizzes.
Additionally, all participants in the integrity campaign took a pledge to: ▲ comply with the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act and perform their duties fairly without influence from private interests ▲ neither favor nor discriminate against those related to their duties ▲ take measures such as recusal to prevent conflicts of interest if it is difficult to perform their duties with integrity. This served as a moment to reaffirm their commitment to maintaining integrity in their work.
Kim Yonghak, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, said, "Integrity and ethics are the top values required by society," and added, "BMC will take the lead in complying with conflict of interest prevention and spreading a culture of integrity and ethics as a trusted public institution for citizens."
