Currently, heavy rain warnings are in effect for Gwangju Metropolitan City, Jeollanam-do, Jeollabuk-do, and Jeju-do, while heavy rain advisory warnings have been issued for other metropolitan cities and provinces nationwide, including Seoul, Busan, Incheon, Daejeon, Chungnam, Chungbuk, Gyeongnam, and Gyeongbuk.

Accordingly, the Korea Forest Service has raised the nationwide landslide warning to "Caution" in preparation for landslide occurrences (risks) due to upcoming weather conditions and preceding rainfall.

Additionally, the Korea Forest Service plans to inspect the emergency response system for landslide disaster preparedness together with 17 cities and provinces nationwide and 11 affiliated institutions of the Korea Forest Service.

In particular, the Korea Forest Service will focus on securing residents' safety by comprehensively monitoring the landslide damage sites in the northern Gyeongbuk region and the area around Tohamsan National Park in Gyeongju, where landslide damage was concentrated last year.

Choi Hyun-soo, head of the Landslide Prevention Division at the Korea Forest Service, said, "Since the landslide warning has been raised to 'Caution,' we urge the public to pay close attention to emergency disaster messages and village broadcasts and to evacuate promptly in case of emergency."

Meanwhile, the landslide warning system is divided into four levels: "Interest," "Caution," "Alert," and "Severe."
