Shilla University College of Aviation and Air Force Headquarters Policy Office Hold Annual Policy Council

Shilla University (President Heo Namsik) College of Aviation held its annual policy consultation meeting for exchange and cooperation in the field of airport dispute management with the Air Force Headquarters Policy Office, following last year's event.

The "2024 Annual Policy Consultation Meeting," held on the 13th at the Dean's Office of the College of Aviation at Shilla University, was attended by Shin Gunjae, Dean of the College of Aviation, Lieutenant Colonel Kim Jingon from the Air Force Headquarters Policy Office, and other key officials from both institutions. The meeting discussed ▲cooperation measures and policy advice regarding the operation of Shilla University's airport dispute management education program ▲building consensus and joint research on the Air Force's airport dispute management operations.


In particular, focused discussions were held on the "Establishment of a Professional Air Traffic Controller Training Institution" project, an autonomous task being carried out by the Department of Air Traffic Management at Shilla University as part of the Busan Regional Innovation Project (RIS) based on cooperation between local governments and universities.


On this day, both institutions agreed to mutually cooperate on various initiatives, such as supporting visits to the Air Force controller training institution and meteorological unit to enhance the air traffic control capabilities of Shilla University's Department of Air Traffic Management, and participating in seminars hosted by the Air Force Headquarters Policy Office.


Lee Doohyeong, Head of the Department of Air Traffic Management at Shilla University, expressed gratitude to the Air Force Headquarters Policy Office for visiting Shilla University and stated, "Students of the College of Aviation at Shilla University are highly interested not only in fulfilling their mandatory military service in the Air Force, which allows them to make the most of their major, but also in pursuing careers as Air Force officers and non-commissioned officers after graduation. We will continue to strengthen exchange and cooperation with the Air Force Headquarters Policy Office so that our students can better understand and apply for the Air Force's recruitment policies."
