Champion Crowned in Taebaek Division at Chuseok Ssireum Tournament Held in Goseong
On the 20th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a presentation ceremony in the mayor's reception room to celebrate Changwon Special City Ssireum Team athlete Choi Wonjun's first-ever Taebaek-class championship at the 'Withus Pharmaceutical 2024 Chuseok Jangsa Ssireum Competition'.

The Changwon Special City Ssireum Team delivered outstanding performances at the '2024 Chuseok Jangsa Ssireum Competition', held from the 12th to the 18th for seven days at the Goseong National Sports Center in Gyeongnam. Choi Wonjun claimed the Taebaek-class (72.1?80kg) championship, Kim Sungha was runner-up in the Sobaek-class (under 72kg), and Nam Wontak placed 5th in the Halla-class (90.1?105kg).
The ceremony was organized to congratulate Choi on his first-ever Taebaek-class championship and to commend coach Mo Jewook and the team for their efforts in this competition. Mayor Hong Nampyo expressed his encouragement and gratitude to Choi Wonjun, who upheld the pride of Changwon Special City, the home of ssireum, as well as to coach Mo Jewook and all team members who worked hard for this event.
Coach Mo Jewook stated, "Thanks to the city's unwavering support for the ssireum team, we were able to achieve great results at this Chuseok Jangsa Ssireum Competition. We will continue to strive for consistent results through well-organized training."
