Woowa Brothers, Publish Book 'Asking About the Restaurant Industry'

Baemin Academy 10th Anniversary Commemorative Book

Baedal Minjok (hereinafter Baemin) operator Woowa Brothers announced on the 20th the publication of 'Asking the Foodservice Industry,' which contains the business stories of 15 foodservice business owners and insights from 5 foodservice experts, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Baemin Academy.


Baemin Academy is a small business education program operated by Baemin to help foodservice business owners run their businesses better. It started in 2014 and currently offers more than 50 free online and offline training sessions and various programs every month. Over the past 10 years, it has provided a total of 3,420 training sessions, with nearly 270,000 cumulative attendees.

'Asking the Foodservice Industry' was planned with the purpose of healthy growth and virtuous circulation in the foodservice sector. It contains answers to the most difficult and relatable concerns that foodservice business owners face while running their stores, such as menu planning, branding, marketing, and profit and loss management. Fifteen foodservice business owners who turned crises into opportunities through Baemin Academy share their own stories and know-how to propose solutions.


It also includes insights from experts who have conducted popular lectures at Baemin Academy. Participating experts who serve as mentors at Baemin Academy include Kwon Jeong-hoon, CEO of the YouTube channel ‘Jangsa KwonPro,’ Chef Shin Dong-min who introduced molecular gastronomy to Korea based on Japanese cuisine, instructor Lee Mina, author of ‘The Secret of 100x Restaurant Business,’ Professor Jeon Hyo-jin of the Department of Foodservice Industry at Jeonju University, and Joo Si-tae, head of NICE Genie Data, which analyzes the foodservice industry through data.


Baemin will donate all royalties from the book sales to uphold the purpose of healthy growth and virtuous circulation in the foodservice industry. All royalties will be used through ‘Good Neighbors’ to provide a warm meal to children suffering from food insecurity in blind spots of society within Korea.


Woowa Brothers’ Kwon Yong-gyu, Head of the Business Growth Center, said, “‘Asking the Foodservice Industry’ aims to deliver vivid, practical stories of local business owners who have been studying and finding answers. We hope it becomes a source of hope and a clue for growth for other fellow business owners.”
