With the official launch of the iPhone 16 series on the 20th, it was revealed that customers in their 20s and 30s made up the largest proportion of pre-orders. In particular, the iPhone 16 Pro model accounted for more than half of the reservations.

The three major mobile carriers, SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus, began activating devices for pre-order customers starting that day. According to SK Telecom's pre-order results, consumers in their 20s and 30s were the most numerous, with those in their 20s accounting for about 35% of all reservations. By model, the iPhone 16 Pro accounted for about 65% of total reservations, making it the most popular, followed by the Pro Max, the base model, and the Plus model in order of reservation share.
Regarding color preferences, the base and Plus models saw white color take up about 50%, while the Pro model’s newly released Desert Titanium color gained popularity with about 25% of selections.
In LG Uplus’s tally, the iPhone 16 Pro 256GB model recorded the highest reservation share at 55%, with White Titanium being the most chosen color at 34%.

The three mobile carriers held various offline events to celebrate the official launch and activation of the iPhone 16.
SKT hosted the “iPhone 16 Early Pick Party with Team SK” event from 8 a.m. at the ICT complex cultural space ‘T Factory’ located in Hongdae. The event featured SK-affiliated French Olympic fencing gold medalist Koo Bon-gil, Park Sang-won, Do Kyung-dong, and weightlifting silver medalist Park Hye-jung, who participated in commemorative photo sessions, autograph signings, talk shows, and OX quizzes. All participants received limited edition goods “Netflix Watch Kit” produced in collaboration with Netflix, Apple Store gift cards worth 100,000 KRW, Belkin chargers, and other gifts. Additionally, a “Daily Lucky Draw” event was held, offering prizes such as LG Electronics StanbyMe TVs and CineBeam projectors through a raffle.
KT invited 200 winners among customers who pre-ordered through its official online mall KT.com to the Andaz Hotel for an event. The first customer to activate their device received a stay voucher for the Andaz Hotel as a prize, and all attendees were provided with Andaz Hotel catering refreshments and tempered glass film application services.

LG Uplus had broadcaster Eom Ji-yoon personally deliver an iPhone 16 Pro 256GB model to pre-order customer Kim Min-seon in Seocho-gu, Seoul, through its ‘Morning Delivery’ service. Additionally, at the complex cultural space ‘Ilsangbi Ilsang-ui Teum by U+’ in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, influencers such as Home Appliance Housewife, the Heo sisters (Kara’s Lee Young-ji and announcer Heo Song-yeon), weathercaster Bae Hye-ji, and Instagrammer Bullettari attended a live activation event. The influencers planned to capture the space with the iPhone 16 according to the concept “Capture the Moment” and review LG Uplus’s iPhone-specialized service ‘IXIO.’ IXIO, which offers features such as call recording, is scheduled to launch next month.
