Free Admission for All at 'Seoul Youth Center Mapo' Until September 28
One-Day Classes Including iPad Drawing, Emotional Expression Charcoal Sketch, and Building Fan Drawing
Mapo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Kang-su) is holding an art exhibition for youth cultural exchange at the ‘Seoul Youth Center Mapo’ (14, World Cup-ro 1-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul) until September 28.
This exhibition is part of a youth cultural exchange activity planned in cooperation with Nam-gu, Busan, a sister city, to celebrate ‘Youth Month (September).’
Four young visual artists?Noh Ga-young, Aha, Jo Su-ji, and Han Hong-bi?active at the Nam-gu Youth Creative Development Center in Busan are participating in this exhibition.
A total of 24 works, filled with unique perspectives and passion, will be showcased, introducing the artistic energy of Busan’s youth to the youth of Mapo-gu and the citizens of Seoul.
Anyone visiting the ‘Seoul Youth Center Mapo’ can view the artworks free of charge, and postcards made using images of the exhibited works will be provided as souvenirs.
Visitors can experience youth culture and the creative world more closely through the works of young artists.
On the last day of the exhibition, September 28, a ‘One-day Special Lecture’ with the young artists will be held.
Various art activities such as iPad drawing, charcoal sketching for emotional expression, and building fan drawing will take place. After the one-day class, a docent program introducing the artworks will also be conducted.
Youths aged 19 to 39 who live or reside in Mapo-gu can participate in the one-day class.
Applications can be made in advance through the Seoul Public Service Reservation website, and detailed information is available on the ‘Seoul Youth Center Mapo Blog.’
Park Kang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “This is an important opportunity for youths from Seoul and Busan to communicate and cooperate through art in Mapo-gu,” adding, “We will continue to expand youth cultural exchanges to provide more opportunities for creative activities to many young people.”
