Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) held the inaugural general meeting of the Pocheon City Youth Foundation at the Pocheon City Hall administrative meeting room on the 19th.
Pocheon City has been preparing to establish the Youth Foundation since 2022 to unify the operation system of youth facilities and to become a professional and systematic organization that lays the foundation for integrated youth policies.
At the inaugural general meeting, attended by 15 foundation directors including Chairman Mayor Baek Young-hyun and 2 auditors, eight agenda items were reviewed and approved, including the adoption of the establishment purpose statement, the draft articles of association, draft regulations for board operation, and draft business plans and budgets.
The city plans to apply for permission to establish a non-profit corporation from Gyeonggi Province, complete the corporate registration procedures, and officially launch the foundation in October.
Mayor Baek Young-hyun said, “We have been preparing to establish the Pocheon City Youth Foundation to promote the rights of youth and guarantee creative and free activities. The foundation aims to nurture healthy future talents by strengthening support for youth protection and helping youth develop various competencies in areas such as career paths, college admission, scholarships, and education.”
He added, “Since citizens have high expectations for the foundation, we will prepare the remaining procedures without any setbacks to support the stable operation of the Pocheon City Youth Foundation.”
Meanwhile, the Pocheon City Youth Foundation plans to promote projects related to △ youth activity promotion △ youth protection, welfare, and counseling △ healthy growth and competency development for citizens and youth △ support for out-of-school youth △ youth career, college admission, and education △ academic management and operation △ operation of youth facilities.
