Early Adaptation to Public Service and Capacity Building
Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jongbok) announced on the 19th that it recently conducted the 'Luckybiki Tour,' a field trip to major county project sites, for 136 newly appointed and transferred public officials in 2024.
This tour, held over four sessions from the 9th to the 12th, was organized to help new employees, who will lead the future development of the Gijang-gun area, adapt quickly to public service and strengthen their competencies.
To learn about the history of Gijang-gun and understand the sentiments of its residents, participants visited the Gijang Culture Center. They also visited key sites such as Ilgwang Amusement Park, Dongnam Radiation Medical Science Industrial Complex, Pottery Village Tourist Site, Jeonggwan Edupark Development Site, and Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park to quickly grasp the county's policy direction and check the progress of major projects.
Next, they visited the Park Taejun Memorial Hall, watched a video about the life of Cheongam Park Taejun, and took time to reflect on the proper mindset required of public officials. To better understand nuclear power plants, which are closely related to the county, they visited the Kori Nuclear Power Plant PR Center and completed training on the principles of power generation and radiation safety management.
On the last day of the tour, the 12th, participants joined Governor Jeong Jongbok in a performance to support attracting a KTX-Eum stop, one of the county's major priority projects.
Governor Jeong Jongbok said, "Education that is experienced firsthand on site is truly essential for new employees," and added, "I hope you will always experience the field in person and become public officials who find new solutions with a fresh perspective."
The term 'Luckybiki' in the Luckybiki Tour is an internet slang meaning 'positive thinking.' The county plans to continue this annual tour to encourage new public officials at the start of their careers and help them approach public service with a positive mindset, tailored to the perspective of the MZ generation.
