President Yoon Suk-yeol announced on the 19th that Kim Seok-woo, the head of the Legal Research and Training Institute of the Ministry of Justice, has been appointed as the new Deputy Minister of Justice, according to the Presidential Office.
The new Deputy Minister Kim was born in 1972 and graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in law. He has served as Chief Prosecutor of the Special 3 Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, Director of the Ministry of Justice's Prosecution System Improvement Planning Group, Team Leader of the Constitutional Issues Research Task Force, and Chief of the Legal Affairs Office.
The Presidential Office explained the background of the appointment, stating that "based on his extensive experience and expertise in overall legal administration, he is the right person to steadily advance the Ministry of Justice's key national policy tasks."
