Yangju City Imposes 64.9 Billion KRW in Regular Property Tax for September

Housing 2nd Quarter and Approximately 111,000 Land Cases
Payment Due by the 30th... 3% Penalty Tax Imposed After Deadline

Yangju City Imposes 64.9 Billion KRW in Regular Property Tax for September A view of Yangju City Hall.

Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 19th that it has imposed and notified approximately 64.9 billion KRW in regular September property taxes on the second installment of housing and about 111,000 land parcels.

Property tax is levied annually on June 1st to property owners. The housing portion of the property tax is divided into the first and second installments, paid in July and September respectively; the property tax on buildings other than houses is levied in July; and the land portion of the property tax is levied in September.

The deadline for this property tax payment is the 30th of this month. Payments can be made in various ways, including visiting financial institutions and post offices nationwide with the tax bill, transferring via the virtual account or local tax revenue account listed on the bill, card payments through local tax ARS, and payments via the Wetax/Internet Giro websites (www.wetax.go.kr / www.giro.kr) and financial institution simple payment apps.

Additionally, even without the tax bill, payments can be made by using cash deposit/withdrawal machines (CD/ATM) at financial institutions or by visiting administrative welfare centers nationwide except Seoul to check and pay the imposed tax details for oneself or others.

The city is promoting payment within the deadline through various methods such as the city website, banners, and electronic display boards. Through the Yangju City Hall KakaoTalk channel ‘Local Tax Notification Talk,’ it provides information not only on property tax but also on various local taxes such as automobile tax and resident tax.

A city official stated, “If payment is made after the property tax payment period, a 3% late payment penalty will be imposed, so we ask that payments be made within the deadline. Since congestion at financial institutions and internet payment access surges are expected on the payment deadline of the 30th, we urge residents to pay in advance before the deadline.”

For more details, inquiries can be made to the Property Tax Team of the Taxation Division at Yangju City Hall.
