Goryeong County, North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Lee Namcheol), will begin administering flu vaccinations starting with children on the 20th, followed by pregnant women and seniors aged 65 and older in succession.
According to the public health center, children aged 6 months to under 9 years who are receiving their first-ever flu vaccination will receive two doses starting from the 20th, while children under 13 years old with previous vaccination history will receive a single dose starting from October 2.
Additionally, pregnant women can receive the vaccination from October 2 regardless of gestational age, and seniors aged 65 and older can receive free vaccinations starting from October 11 at public health sub-centers, health clinics, or designated medical institutions nationwide.
Kim Gonsu, Director of the Public Health Center, emphasized, "Children are vulnerable to flu outbreaks due to their group activities, and pregnant women face a higher risk of complications such as pneumonia if infected, so I strongly encourage all eligible individuals to get vaccinated without exception."
