Walking and Running Along Samcheok Coast, the Best Scenic Spot on the East Coast

‘Samcheok Coastal Trail & Trekking Festa’ Held from 28th to 29th

Samcheok City (Mayor Park Sang-su) announced on the 19th that the ‘Samcheok Coastal Trail·Trekking Festa,’ an event where participants can enjoy walking and running while taking in the scenic views of the East Coast, will be held over two days from September 28 to 29 at the Isabu Square area in Samcheok City.

Hosted by the Gangwon Tourism Foundation (CEO Choi Seong-hyun), this event is linked with the “Isabu Dokdo Peace Bridge” and features the Isabu-gil trail, renowned for the East Coast’s most spectacular coastal scenery, as the main course. The event offers a total of three courses: the New Millennium Course (5 km), Dokdo Course (10 km), and Isabu Course (13.5 km).

In particular, to encourage local consumption, a portion of the participation fee will be refunded in Samcheok Love Gift Certificates, and local specialty products will be promoted and sold through collaboration with local flea market booths.

Participants can register in advance on the Samcheok Coastal Trail·Trekking Festa website. The participation fees are 40,000 KRW for the New Millennium Course and 50,000 KRW for the Dokdo and Isabu Courses. On-site registration will also be accepted on the day of the event.

A Samcheok City official stated, “We hope many trail running tourists from across the country will experience health and healing while running along Samcheok’s beautiful coastal scenery,” adding, “We hope Samcheok will become another hometown that people want to visit again.”
