The "Youth Challenge Support Project" in Cheonan, Chungnam, which supports young people who have given up on job seeking to enter society, has been showing positive results.
This project is a special initiative by Cheonan City that provides various programs to young people aged 18 to 34 who have abandoned their job search, aiming to boost their motivation and help them enter society. The program is divided into short-term (5 weeks), mid-term (15 weeks), and long-term (25 weeks) courses. Participants take part in various tailored programs such as one-on-one counseling sessions once or twice a week, career exploration, job competency enhancement, personal color analysis, communication skills lectures, and small group collaboration programs.
The city was selected as an excellent institution in the Ministry of Employment and Labor's Youth Challenge Support Project performance evaluation in 2021, and as the best institution for two consecutive years from 2022 to 2023.
This year, the project recruited its target of 180 participants, and as of the end of last month, 92 had completed the program and 21 had achieved employment or started their own businesses.
Mayor Park Sangdon said, "We will spare no effort in providing various opportunities and support so that young people who have given up on job seeking can realize their hidden potential and achieve their dreams through this program."
