Winix Voluntary Recall of 'Proper Humidifier'... Water Supply Filter Corrosion

For 7 Models Produced Since September 2021

The Korea Consumer Agency announced that starting from the 19th, it will conduct a voluntary recall (parts replacement) for seven models of Winix's proper humidifier products (4ℓ) that may have issues with the humidifying function due to corrosion of the water supply filter.

The Consumer Agency received hazard information that numerous black foreign substances were found inside the water tank of the affected models and conducted an investigation. As a result, it was confirmed that if the black sponge material water supply filter is scrubbed strongly with a scouring pad or dried under direct sunlight after washing, foreign substances may occur due to aging and corrosion. The water supply filter is installed inside the humidifier water supply valve and functions to filter out foreign substances.

The Consumer Agency, in consultation with the manufacturer, decided to replace the water supply filters with mesh material filters for the seven models manufactured from September 2021 to June of the following year. The affected models are WL3M400-KWK, WL3E400-KWK, WL3E401-KWK, WL3E400-KEK, WL3E401-KEK, WL3E400-KNK, and WL3E401-KNK.

The Consumer Agency urged consumers who own the affected products to immediately stop using them and promptly take action through the Winix Customer Satisfaction Center or the official website.
