Shinhan Investment Corp. analyzed on the 19th that SOOP is expected to attract new traffic due to the transfer of streamers from the competing platform ‘Chijijik’.

Kang Seok-oh, a researcher at Shinhan Investment Corp., stated in a report on the same day, “SOOP is expected to continue its over 20% growth in both the third and fourth quarters of this year,” adding, “Data from PungToday until last month showed an upward trend, and as of September, there is a high possibility of month-over-month growth and record-breaking performance.”

He explained, “The platform service (star balloons) will continue to grow quarter-over-quarter due to the spread of the patronage economy culture and an increase in user ARPPU. Recently, many streamers have transferred from Naver’s competing platform ‘Chijijik,’ which is expected to bring in new traffic,” and added, “Streamers focused on Valorant and virtual content have transferred, raising expectations for the influx of young users in their teens and twenties.”

He also noted, “Traffic in the second half of the year is expected to grow compared to the first half due to the Paris Olympics in the third quarter and the League of Legends World Championship in the fourth quarter,” and explained, “The company has confirmed participation in G-Star scheduled for November, which is believed to be aimed at expanding the scale of content-type advertising revenue involving BJs and motivating streamers from other platforms to transfer.”

Furthermore, he predicted, “The influence of BJs and streamers has grown to a level comparable to celebrities (such as Gwajupseyeon and Ayun), and the influencer advertising market is expected to continue its rapid growth.”
