Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold the "2024 Geumcheon-gu Policy Proposal Contest" until October 11 to promote regional development and solve local issues.
The contest was planned with the purpose of reflecting the diverse voices of Geumcheon-gu residents in policies and creating a communication platform where residents can directly participate. Under the theme "Policy Ideas for Future Geumcheon Development: Listening, Embracing, and Leaping Forward," various policy proposals will be discovered.
The contest topics include five key areas of district administration goals: ▲ Housing and Real Estate ▲ Welfare, Childbirth, and Childcare ▲ Education and Culture ▲ Local Economy and Jobs ▲ Environment and Carbon Neutrality. Any proposals aimed at improving residents' quality of life are welcome.
Any Geumcheon-gu resident interested in district administration (including employees, students, and members of organizations located in Geumcheon-gu) can apply. Proposals can be submitted by writing on the "Policy Proposal" section of the Geumcheon-gu Office website or by filling out the proposal form found under "Notices and Announcements" and submitting it in person or via email to the Planning and Budget Division of Geumcheon-gu Office.
Submitted proposals will undergo a comprehensive review based on feasibility, creativity, and efficiency. In November, awards will be given for Grand Prize (1,000,000 KRW), Excellence Prize (500,000 KRW), Encouragement Prize (300,000 KRW), and Effort Proposal Prize (50,000 KRW).
The district office will also hold an event to encourage diverse policy proposals. Among participants who do not receive awards, 100 people will be selected by lottery to receive souvenirs.
Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu said, "This contest is a valuable opportunity for residents to directly participate in regional development and to envision the future together. I hope many creative and practical ideas will be proposed so that Geumcheon-gu can become an even better place to live."
Meanwhile, Geumcheon-gu operates a "Policy Proposal" corner within the Open Mayor’s Office to allow residents to directly propose and solve local issues. Residents who want to suggest various policy improvement ideas to resolve daily inconveniences can participate at any time, not only during the proposal contest period.
