Establishment of ‘Integrity Gwanak Code of Conduct’ and building a flexible organizational culture
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) is making every effort to establish an honest and flexible organizational culture.
On the 13th, the district held an integrity talk concert, “Cheongnyeom Hasho(show),” at the Gwanak District Office with about 150 employees.
This event was organized to create an honest organizational culture through communication and empathy between generations, and proceeded in the order of an integrity cultural performance (sand art) and a dialogue with the district mayor.
During the dialogue, Park Jun-hee, mayor of Gwanak-gu, shared the importance of an integrity culture with three employee representatives, discussing topics such as ▲improving organizational culture ▲generational perception gaps ▲eradication of power abuse.
In particular, this event was promoted with the mayor’s strong will to spread the commitment to integrity among employees and communicate with them. The sincere conversation between the mayor and participating employees created an atmosphere that received great response on site.
Also, on the 12th, ahead of the Chuseok holiday, a period vulnerable to corruption, Park Jun-hee, mayor of Gwanak-gu, took the microphone for the morning broadcast of the “Chuseok Special Integrity Quiz” to communicate with employees.
On that day, Mayor Park gave quizzes on topics related to integrity and once again urged employees to keep in mind the responsibility and principles they must uphold as honest public officials before the Chuseok holiday.
The district has been operating the “You Quiz on the Gwanak” morning broadcast, which presents various quizzes related to integrity every month, since this year. Employees can enjoy fun and pleasant moments in their daily lives through quizzes while easily enhancing their awareness of integrity.
Various benefits are provided to quiz winners, resulting in high employee participation and enthusiastic responses.
In particular, the morning broadcast integrity quiz is presented directly by the mayor, deputy mayor, and executives, greatly contributing to breaking down hierarchical barriers within the organization and forming a more flexible organizational culture through mutual communication with employees.
In July, to foster a horizontal organizational culture through communication between superiors and subordinates, the district collected employees’ opinions and established the “Integrity Gwanak Code of Conduct,” promoting an integrity culture campaign so that all employees can familiarize themselves with the code.
The district plans to continue various efforts such as employee education, campaigns, and proactive administration tailored to residents’ expectations to spread an honest organizational culture.
Park Jun-hee, mayor of Gwanak-gu, said, “An honest organizational culture is the key to achieving fair and transparent administration,” adding, “We will continue to improve the organizational culture to eradicate power abuse and establish a horizontal organizational culture, doing our best to make Gwanak-gu a trusted public institution.”
