Mr. A was driving a passenger car in the second lane of a three-lane road when his vehicle broke down, prompting him to get off. Afterward, he gave a breakdown signal to the vehicles behind, but a man in his 20s, Mr. B, who was driving a passenger car behind him, failed to notice Mr. A and collided with him. Mr. A, who was involved in the accident, was transported to a nearby hospital in cardiac arrest but passed away.
The police believe that Mr. B caused the accident while using his mobile phone to operate the navigation system while driving.
The police have criminally charged Mr. B with homicide under the Special Act on the Treatment of Traffic Accidents and plan to investigate the detailed circumstances of the accident.
