Seung-ro Lee, the mayor of Seongbuk-gu, gave up the Chuseok holiday to inspect emergency medical treatment and emergency response sites and encourage the officials involved. On the 17th, the day of Chuseok, the mayor visited the Seongbuk-gu Public Health Center to check the smooth provision of medical services and expressed gratitude for the hard work of the staff.

The mayor said, “I deeply thank everyone who has dedicated themselves to providing emergency medical services, and let us put in a little more effort for the safe and happy Chuseok holiday of Seongbuk residents.”

Wonsook Hwang, director of the Seongbuk-gu Public Health Center, stated, “We anticipated an increase in the number of patients during the Chuseok holiday and prepared meticulously. As a result of this preparation, no emergency situations have occurred so far.”

Seongbuk-gu is operating an ‘Emergency Medical Treatment Situation Room’ and an ‘Emergency Medical Team’ at the public health center in response to high concerns about medical service gaps due to the medical strike. Accordingly, from the 16th to the 18th, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the first-floor information desk and the seventh-floor medical department of the public health center provide information on medical institutions and pharmacies that are open. In addition, on the 14th, 16th, and 17th, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., three medical staff conducted primary medical treatment on the fourth floor of the Seongbuk-gu Public Health Center.

Earlier, the district established the ‘2024 Seongbuk-gu Chuseok Comprehensive Plan’ to ensure a safe and comfortable Chuseok holiday for Seongbuk residents, which has been in effect from the 13th to the 19th of this month. During this holiday period, 373 district hospitals and clinics and 427 pharmacies were open, and the district used all available promotional channels to inform residents.

Information on hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies open during the holiday can be found on the Seongbuk-gu website, the emergency medical information mobile app, and the Seoul 2024 Chuseok Holiday Comprehensive Information.
