Trump Assassination Attempt Suspect Flees with 'GoPro'... Did He Try to Live Stream?

A suspect who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate in the United States, was found to have installed a high-performance filming device called a 'GoPro' at the crime scene. It is suggested that the suspect may have intended to film the assassination scene directly or attempt a live broadcast over the internet.

According to the Associated Press and other sources on the 15th (local time), authorities discovered an AK-47 style rifle equipped with a scope in the bushes within the 'Trump International Golf Club' in Florida, where the suspect was aiming the gun.

On the fence right in front of the suspect, a GoPro and two bags were found hanging. The GoPro is a representative product of the 'action camcorder,' specially developed for filming sports or leisure activities. It is easy to carry and widely used for everyday outdoor filming, as well as being useful for live internet streaming.

Considering that the GoPro was mounted on the fence at the site where the rifle was found, it suggests the possibility that the suspect intended to film the shooting and its aftermath.

The AK-47 rifle left by the suspect is the most commonly seen automatic rifle in conflict zones worldwide and is regarded as one of the deadliest weapons in the history of firearms. The AK-47 can be learned to operate in 1 to 2 hours and has few malfunctions. Developed in the former Soviet Union in 1947, it is estimated that over 100 million units have been distributed worldwide.

It is used by government forces, rebels, terrorist groups, mafias, and private security guards around the world, and has a notorious reputation as the most frequently used tool for murder. The Britannica Encyclopedia lists the rifle as one of the seven most lethal weapons in human history, emphasizing that the most iconic among them is the AK-47, representing the military weaponry of the 20th century.

Meanwhile, the suspect hid about 274 to 457 meters away from former President Trump, who was playing golf that afternoon, aimed the gun, and was discovered and fired upon by Secret Service (SS) agents.

The suspect dropped the rifle and fled by car but was arrested by the local sheriff.

The suspect was identified as a 58-year-old man from Hawaii. Investigators consider the assassination attempt to be clear based on the tools used. However, since the suspect remains silent, the motive for the crime has not yet been clearly revealed.
