U.S. President Joe Biden on the 15th (local time) ordered all necessary measures to be taken to ensure the safety of former President Donald Trump, who was the target of an assassination attempt.
In a statement that day, President Biden said, "I have directed my team to ensure that the Secret Service (SS) continues to have all the resources, capabilities, and protective measures necessary to guarantee the ongoing safety of the former president."
He added, "I am relieved that the former president was not injured," emphasizing, "As I have said many times, there is no place in our country for political violence or any kind of violence at any time."
He also said, "I commend the Secret Service and their law enforcement partners who have been vigilant and worked to keep the former president and those around him safe."
He further noted that he has been briefed on the investigation by judicial authorities regarding the case being probed as a "possible assassination attempt on former President Trump."
